Defensive Handgun
Introduction to Defensive Handgun is an 8-hour basic course designed to teach necessary skills to students who regularly carry a concealed weapon, whether in an Undercover capacity or as a holder of a valid LTC
This course will cover several defensive based topics important for the everyday person wishing to advance their skillet with the handgun platform when deployed in a defensive situation. Students will leave the class with ways to better track their progression and proficiency with their weapon system and have an increased understanding of the skills that directly relate to carrying/deploying a handgun in a defensive situation.
This will be a high paced class, and we will only break when necessary.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
1. Semi-automatic Pistol w/ at least 3 magazines
2. Concealment holster and mag pouches
3. Hand-held/weapon mounted lights
4. Spare batteries
5. BDU style pants
6. Close toed shoes
7. Head gear
8. Sunscreen
9. Eye protection
10. Ear protection
11. Black sharpie
12. Training tourniquet
13. Food/water
14. Note taking material
RECOMMENDED:
Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) are optional but recommended.
Blackhawk/SERPA holsters, or other finger-release type holsters, are forbidden and will not be allowed on the range (regardless if allowed at your current agency). Please take appropriate measures to have quality holsters on class day.
Credentials:
Valid Agency credentials will need to be verified prior to registration if not purchaced with a valid departmental email.
